Week 6: K for Knowledge

In today’s lecture Jason emphasised the TPAC model, showing us how we can link technology to content and pedagogy. I really enjoyed the game Jason played with us and got us thinking about the relationships within this model. I feel very confident talking about content, however there are so many technologies and pedagogies it’s hard to know which one is most appropriate.

As an ICT Certificate holder (I’m being optimistic!), the TPAC model is something that I will endeavour to embed in every possible framework that I can. I appreciate the fact that technologies can enhance learning and student engagement, so it would be omit of me to ignore the TPAC model.

This week Jasmine and I will be concentrating on blending the technology, content and pedagogy into our 10 minute video successfully in order to demonstrate our understanding of how these three concepts support and enhance the learning in our classrooms. Jasmine has overcome the technological glitches relating to video conversion software (yeah Jas) and we have our xtranormal script relating to our pedagogy and our slides relating to our content ready and waiting to be edited. The video portion involves Jasmine’s son using the technology component. I’m excited to see how he found using the Dimension software and am interested to learn what his strengths and weaknesses were.
